Visitor Experience Officer

We’re excited to be recruiting a Visitor Experience Officer – a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting the visitor operation of the Stowe House Preservation Trust.

As part of our dedicated team, you’ll help ensure every visitor enjoys a memorable and inspiring experience. From welcoming guests and supporting events, to leading volunteer teams and acting as Duty Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our visitor offer.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual who thrives in a busy, people-focused environment and has a genuine love of heritage sites.

Key Details

• Contract type: Permanent
• Hours: 30 per week (Thursday–Sunday, including Bank Holidays within these days, with one weekend off per month and occasional evenings)
• Salary: £25,000 per annum (FTE)
• Location: Buckingham, Buckinghamshire
• Closing date: 9 November 2025
• Interviews: Wednesday 19 and Friday 21 November 2025

What You’ll Do

• Deliver a warm and engaging welcome to every visitor
• Oversee the smooth daily running of the visitor operation
• Act as Duty Manager, ensuring high standards of safety and customer service
• Support, motivate, and lead volunteer teams
• Assist with the organisation and delivery of public programme events

What We’re Looking For

• Proven face-to-face customer service experience with a proactive and positive approach
• Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for working with people
• Confidence with IT systems and a willingness to learn new ones
• Experience with EPOS/ticketing systems, retail, or cash handling (desirable but not essential)
