Heritage Open Day
15 September, 11:00am-4:30pm | Ticket price: From Free-Free
Due to the forecast of high winds, our partners at the National Trust have made the difficult decision to close the gardens for safety reasons. As a result, Stowe House will also be closed, and we are sadly having to cancel tomorrow’s Heritage Open Day event.
The safety of our visitors, volunteers, and staff is always our top priority. With the current weather conditions, we are unable to guarantee a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
We’re truly disappointed to cancel this event but we appreciate your understanding and continued support. We look forward to welcoming you back to Stowe soon.

Join us at Stowe as we open our doors for the annual Heritage Open Day. With free entry across the estate, take this unique opportunity to explore 250 acres of monumental landscaped gardens, take a taster tour of Stowe House where you can discover the fascinating architectural history of one of Britain’s finest hidden gems, visit Stowe Church and the Gothic Temple, normally an exclusive holiday cottage for the Landmark Trust.
As our building also serves a school and it’s term time. we’ll be offering tours only with limited numbers. You can pre-book online or arrive on the day with a first serve basis if there is availability. Tours will be running every 30 minutes from 11.00am until 4.00pm and will include the South Front, Marble Saloon, North Hall and the North Front of Stowe House.
