Possibly Minerva, with Britanica. Part of a set of four contemporary Portland Colossal Maidens, other ideas suggest they are the Four Seasons or possibly a representation of the significance of Marquess of Buckingham’s four sisters who all married men with both titles and either political or military careers all helping to keep the country strong. The four figures were cast from the garden scultpures at Easton Neston, originally at Stowe.

Modern copy of the Head of Juno cast in jesmonite, with socle. This is a replica similar to the marble Juno sold in the 1848 sale. It is likely that it is based on Juno Ludovisi the colossal Roman marble head from the 1st century depicting Antonia Minor, daughter of Mark Antony and Octavia Minor, as the goddess Juno.
